KWO® FR is a gasket tape made from glass fibre reinforced expanded PTFE. The added glass fibres improve the mechanical properties and allow a higher operating temperature.
The result is a considerably reduced cold-flow tendency, good recovery properties and excellent sealing performances at thermal cyclings. The added glass fibres enhance the mechanical characteristics and reduce creep and cold-flow. The tape withstands high loads and is suitable for applications in high-temperature environments. KWO® FR tape has a rectangular cross-section and is self-adhesive. The used glue is characterised by a high adhesive force.
KWO® FR is suitable for applications in power plants, given its resistance to high temperatures up to 200°C and to high sealing stresses. The applications include, for example, pipe flanges, heat exchangers, compensators and lid plugs in power plants.
